Join a highly respected team at Saint Agnes Medical Center and provide essential in-house OB/GYN care in a dynamic hospital setting with Level II and III NICU support.

  • Start in September, 5-7 shifts per month
  • Provide full-time in-house OB/GYN hospitalist coverage at Saint Agnes Medical Center
  • Care for both private and non-private patients
  • Cover all areas of Postpartum, Antepartum, and Labor & Delivery
  • Support from Level II and Level III NICUs and a 25+ bed ICU
  • Utilize the Epic EMR system
  • Call Ratio: 1:5
  • Average 3�4 deliveries and 13�15 patients per 24-hour shift
  • Work in a collaborative and collegial environment
  • Ideal for OB/GYNs seeking flexible scheduling and a meaningful role

Arethere residents on as well? There is a Residents schedule printed eachmonth. Almost fulltime (but more than 50%) resident coverage. Often 3rdand 4th year (Sub-l) medical students as well. We still need billingsheets on each of those patients from the Primary call physician as we can billas well.

 

Is there a midwife or 2 onwith the ob hospitalist to do the low risk care, triage, rounding? No.

Isthe ob hospitalist covering unassigned patients only? Or patients of anyemployed obgyns by st Agnes Or private patients? Unassigned, as well aspatients from the private practice physicians. Two groups - the Saint Agnesphysicians and a local FQHC also have 24 hour call schedules. 

Does the ob hospitalist coverthe ER and gyn as well? Yes.  Off-service GYNpost-ops are rounded on by the surgeon unless specifically signed out to theservice.

If covering private patientswhat is the role? Covers all aspects of the private practice (4physicians) in-house OB care. Scheduled C/S performed by attending, nothospitalist unless attending out of town & requests surgery to be done byhospitalist. Scheduled C/S will have pre-arranged assistant & does notrequire hospitalist to participate

Does the ob hospitalist backthem up for emergencies only or c sections. Or manage their labors and triage? ER visits of the 4 private practice physicians coveredby hospitalist

Who covers the ER visits fromprivate obgyns? ER visits of the 4 private practice physicianscovered by hospitalist

Isthere one or two ob hospitalists on duty at a time? onephysician on Primary duty and another on a Back up schedule that can be calledin by staff. Physicians present on the floor can also help assist. Thereare also Residents assigned to the OBED.

How many deliveries permonth? Average of 120 deliveries per month

How many are private and howmany are hospitalist service? An average of10% ofdeliveries each month are for patients classified as  �No prenatal care�.

Isthere a back up on call should there be a super busy shift with multipleemergencies like c section and ruptured ectopic going at the same time to OR? Yes,there is a separate back up schedule and a back up physician can be called inat any time.
